Apparently one of the many glamorous and exciting jobs available in each branch of the military is bona fide advertising exec. Over the past few years, since this nightmare of a war began, there has been a significant drop in enlistment, not to mention the record high numbers of soldiers going AWOL. Excuse me if the cool new song “I Kissed a Girl” from random what’s her name #351 seems completely offensive. I was bored and quietly disappointed with the stupidity of the subject matter; “I kissed a girl and I liked it, hope my boyfriend don’t mind it” until I saw a group of full blown lesbians rocking out to it. What the hell is going on?

If you missed this past Saturday’s SNL you thankfully missed Michael Phelps trying to read cue cards and butchering most of his lines, but you also missed Tina Fey’s return doing a dead on Sarah Palin impression with Amy Poehler standing right by her side having quite a good time ragging on Hillary.

So this is a shout out to those who have worked, sweated and gone without cable to make their dreams come true. Those who have endured and succeeded, as well as those still enduring and trying to make the music and art which future generations may proudly remember this one for.
