The Gossip is back- bigger and better than ever! They worked tirelessly year after year in the trenches of art and music and now- they are platinum bitches. They’ve added bass guitarist Chris Sutton (formerly of Narcotic Sound System) and have officially crossed over into the big time. We couldn’t be happier (*sniff*)! Talk shows, Lagerfeld, Chanel, red carpets, clothing lines,  paparazzi, catwalks- and of course, all the best parties. Beth, Hannah and Brace, through no fault of their own, are in bed with celebrity- so pray for their little punk/soul hearts. Wishy-washy celebrity rigmarole aside, the pressure is more intense than ever to give it their all, and the newest album ‘Music for Men’ hit stores with the powers of a major label back in June. Honestly, we suck for only mentioning it now.

Punk purists may do some scoffing, as songs like ‘Pop Goes the World’ and ‘Love Long Distance’, are certainly well produced dance hits. Unfortunately, purists are boring, and being labeled “punk/soul” was evidence of their open hearts and minds in the first place. They have a right to morph, change, and grow at will, so by God show some loyalty. The fact is that The Gossip has always been danceable (even when they were recording songs in Kathy Mendonca’s bathroom), so don’t waste time being a douche simply because they are now marketable. Say what you will, but the new stuff is still the best of them, and judgeMENTAL remains on board. Realistically, even art/truth dreams include money…and servants. Oh the servants! Trust and believe that we here will retain personal drivers the exact second it becomes financially feasible. Until then, get your hands on ‘Music for Men’. (Yes, that is the lovely Hannah on the cover! Hot damn she’s sexy!)
