Matt & Kim
Definitely one of the bands to look out for in the future. Catchy hooks coupled with driving drums and synth sweetness will have you bouncing around, tapping your foot and bobbing your head like a cracked out kangaroo. ‘Grand’ is the second album from Brooklyn based duo Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino where you can really tell they’ve found their voice since their debut album ‘Matt & Kim’ and have every intention of letting you know it.
Don’t be surprised if you’re already familiar with them as their song ‘Daylight’ is used in the new Bacardi Mojito™ commercial being played every five minutes on every channel. Other sweet gems to look out for are the hauntingly beat driven ‘Lessons Learned’(check out the video), and ‘Cinders’ which makes me wanna run from one room to the other just to see how fast I can do it. Also check out the harmony laden, atmospheric ‘Turn This Boat Around’ for some ballad action. Matt & Kim have been touring extensively, all the while building up a huge following and fan base back in NYC.
