10 Minutes with P.I.
JM: What’s your style of music and who are your influences?
P.I.: Hard rock meets alternative meets heavy metal. Influences are Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Coheed and Cambria…
JM: Is there a method to your writing?
P.I.: We’ve tried it different ways. We’ve tried it with music first then lyrics, we’ve tried melody first then guitar… now we’re writing a song with the drums first, then guitars. So whatever comes out first we manage to work around it. It’s crazy but it keeps everything very interesting.
JM: What have you been listening to lately? What do you think of the
music coming out lately?
P.I.: Whatever is a hit on the radio, from Pop to Emo to Metal. We’re glad that the guitar solos are back in town.
JM: With all the people trying to break into the industry these days,
ever stop to ask yourself WTF you’re doing?
P.I: All our lives we’ve been wondering WTF we’re doing, and the industry has nothing to do with it.
JM: Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
P.I.: Hobo musicians!!!
JM: If your band had to relay your feelings about women in one
sentence, what would it be?
P.I.: Become our groupie!
JM: If you could work with anyone who would it be?
P.I.: Faith Hill
JM: How does the current state of the world affect your band and your
music?
P.I.: Not much, yet. Give us some time, and we might write songs about it.
